The T-matrix method for modeling the optical properties of grains in exoplanetary atmospheres

Observations of exoplanetary atmospheres have revealed a rather complex co-existence between the gaseous and condensed phases, ranging from atmospheres apparently covered in clouds to clear ones, across a myriad of intermediate regimes. The interaction between...

Two-Component Dark Matter and Strongly First-Order Electroweak Phase Transition via a Two-Step Mechanism in the Inert Doublet plus Real Singlet Model

We study a two-component dark matter model in which a real singlet scalar and an inert doublet scalar are simultaneously present alongside the Standard Model, each stabilized by an independent discrete symmetry. The real singlet undergoes a strong first-order...

Kinematically isolating intracluster light in AS1063: a distinct stellar population tracing the dark matter core

We present a technique using integral-field spectroscopy to kinematically isolate intracluster light (ICL) from the brightest cluster galaxy (BCG), enabling insights into their contrasting stellar populations and the inner dark matter halo profile. Applying th...

Phakoseismology: Asteroseismology of gravitationally microlensed stars

Asteroseismology relies on disk-integrated photometry or radial velocities, in which geometric cancellation suppresses modes of high spherical degree ($l\geq4$). Observations are thus limited to deeply penetrating, low-degree modes, leaving the outer envelope...

Probing Minihalos in the Late Dark Ages through Velocity Acoustic Oscillations in the 21-cm Power Spectrum

In the Dark Ages, minihalos above the Jeans mass accrete gas from the intergalactic medium (IGM). The accreted gas would be heated to virial temperature and produces 21 cm signal in emission, while the majority of gas retained in the IGM is cold and has 21 cm...
